Plus System Camp Overview:
The Plus System of Wrestling is designed to meet the needs of intermediate and advanced wrestlers. Rather than focusing on individual skills and techniques, the Plus System emphasizes concepts and strategies. Wrestlers go beyond simple techniques, instead learning more advanced combinations and series- from set up to finish. Here, wrestlers review the basics and then move on to more complex techniques that allow them to formulate and enhance a style of wrestling most suitable to their skill set.
Objectives for all Plus Camp Wrestlers:
- Demonstrate two effective series or combinations of attacks (chain wrestling)
- Demonstrate three effective set-ups to begin each series or combination of attacks
- Demonstrate four effective finishes to complete each series or combination of attacks
- Demonstrate effective primary and secondary defensive techniques from the neutral position
- Demonstrate two strong series from the bottom position (chain wrestling)
- Demonstrate two strong series of attacks from the top position (chain wrestling)
- Transition from passive to active drilling
- Develop own Style (Personalize)
- Develop Goal Setting Strategies
5 Day Plus Commuter Camp (10 training sessions + Live Competition)
Students attending this camp will receive a condensed version of the Plus
System covering all three positions (neutral, top, & bottom). They
will attend two sessions each day. The morning session is dedicated
to learning and refining combinations and series of technique. The
afternoon session is used to reinforce the techniques learned in the morning
session and to allow students to put their technique to use in live situations. Breakout
review sessions are provided at the end of each afternoon session to allow
students to ask questions and staff to provide specific feedback.
- Morning Session: Instructional Session (Learn It)
